- WWWandaApr 21, 20265.0I brought a car from the auction yesterday and when I turn my vehicle on today, it said check engine soon on my dash. I was devastated drove to Aramingo and Butler to advance auto. Bradley. The store manager was patient with my devastation, he really helped me with what I needed. The only thing my car needed cost me 9 bucks. Wuuuuhooooo I’m sooooo happy thank you Bradley!!!!!!

Changed the oil on my Rav 4 and didn't realize I needed 3 different size wrenches for the process (had small American made cars previously). Bought the oil, filter and a new battery, then I had to come back a second time to get the right size wrench and the size they recommended didn't work -- ended up borrowing it from a neighbor instead.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
