- SDS DJun 23, 20251.0They had my car for two weeks to repair roof and quarter panel damage. Got my car back, they had the passenger seatbelt seatbelt completely disassembled, paint on the inside of my rear window and plastic trim, and left greasy finger prints on my headliner from taking it in and out of my car. Now I have to take my car back and deal with the headache of further repairs. Never again. Edit: The response by the shop is correct. I took my car for the repairs, to be repaired. I went in at 10am for my appointment. Sandy came out and asked me why I was there. I told her my seatbelt was never put back together after repairs. She got nasty and told me that it was impossible for my front passenger seatbelt to be taken apart. I told her I had spoken with State Farm about the repairs, and then she proceeded to scream in my face that “she had been doing this job for 25 years”. She then screamed at me that “State Farm was their biggest customer” and she was “Not going to let me jeopardize it”. I took her to my car parked outside, and showed her that all trim pieces (including front seat belt) had to be removed when they pulled my headline down for rear repairs. She kept arguing with me and then aggressively said “fine we will fix it. We will fix it”. I immediately called State Farm once again, and reported Sandy for her behavior towards me, and the absolute nightmare she caused because I held them accountable for their work. They should be appalled that they didn’t check a very important SAFETY check point. I’ve been a diesel mechanic for 19 years, and that would be something we’d get written up/disclipined over- or fired for. Huge no-no. A non functioning seatbelt can cause death, injury, and at the least a ticket. Gerber would have the biggest lawsuit if someone were to get injured by their negligence. I have another open claim with State Farm and will be using Caliber Collision in Nazareth.
