- KIKeya IsaacFeb 19, 20261.0I'm a big fan of Advance Auto Parts, but not all stores have good customer service. I'm a 1st time car owner so I panick over everything. During the freezing temperatures my car wouldn't start so i jumped my battery and ran over to Advance. The 1st employee I communicated with calmed my nerves down and explained things to me, but that 2nd employee made me feel as if he didnt want to help me. No greeting, no warmth to him just a rushed job. When I asked a question I felt I was bothering him. I won't be going back to this store anymore, I'll stick to the stores that are nicer and know how to talk 1st time car owners.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
