These people are the worst. They harass the hell out of you the minute you owe them any money. They threaten to turn off the breathalyzer, tell penndot, they text and email you…. The thing drains your battery. Had a brand new battery. Had to buy 2 new ones in a year because of their out of date equipment. It just leaves you sitting for various reasons Communication is awful. I have Videos idk if I can put them here… trying to start my car and it not working I told them to send my report on the 14th. Which is the date. They said no, and that they would send it the following Monday. Monday they were ā€œhackedā€ and I couldn’t talk to ANYONE for 10 days!!! When I got hold of someone they Tried to make it sound like it was my fault. And they hung up on me Chat don’t work. It’s been 13 days since I was supposed to have the device removed. It takes a literal hour to get someone on the phone. They can’t help you. One guy hung up on me. 2x they couldn’t hear me or something… They just extorted payment from me, for days I should not have even had the thing in my car… refused to credit me Attorney general . Gov/ submit complaint

Never get call back from supervisor, was never told that the machine will do a test even when car is off and you are in your house, have now had to pay 75.00 fee to them twice plus the service center fee or 30.00. I recommend trying a different company that doesn't try and rip you off within the first 2 weeks of install and a company that actually calls you back or answers your emails 😔

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.

What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
