Before I write this, I will stress the people here have been extremely friendly and courteous in my two times, however, in both times, there seems to be a disconnect in communication. I was told during my estimate appointment and at drop-off (on a Monday - 3/30), that the goal was to have the vehicle done by that Friday (4/3). Due to this and having an hour commute to and from work, I opted to get extra coverage at Enterprise on my rental to fully cover the car. This was 100% my choice, but figured spending $100 (19.99/day) plus some tax out of pocket (the rental car itself was covered by insurance, but not fully covered if there was an accident) to ensure complete protection was worth it…but this was also under the goal of my vehicle being done in a week. I understand a goal is just a goal, however, my estimate jumped from 4/3 to 4/13. No issue there as it was a best-case scenario, but I was never notified of that 10-day difference and only found out on 4/2 and called. Of the 3 estimates and final bill I received, they show a total labor time of around 22 hours. I was advised Erie Insurance mandates the shop to work on the vehicle for 5 hours a day, so in theory, that would mean it would be ready in 5 days. Moving to 4/6 (a Monday) where I called Major’s again and advised of the extra insurance I was paying for due to thinking it would be a quick repair. They were understanding and agreed it can get expensive. I was told it would be no issue to have the car finished by Friday (4/10). That Friday afternoon, I was told they didn’t think it would be done before the weekend. On Monday (4/13), I was told they ran into a broken bracket issue with the bumper/fender and Toyota would not be able to get them it until the next day. I was told they would speak with their manager about potentially picking up some of the days of the optional insurance I had been paying for since the date kept getting pushed back. I was grateful to hear that but stress I never asked for that.  I was then able to pick up the car the next day, bringing the total time to 16 days. At pickup, I was once again told they were sure there would be no issue in them paying a few days. The representative at Major’s mentioned Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday as being possible days for them to pay. All in all, that additional insurance coverage for 16 days cost $345 after tax, so it was much appreciated hearing they would help with that. After a few days of waiting for a final invoice for the rental, I was told I’d be billed the full amount. I did explain the situation to Enterprise but, their representative mentioned a conversation with Major’s saying they would pay for a few days for the rental itself, but found out Erie covered the car, so they didn’t pay for anything. I was explicitly clear with Major’s in telling them my insurance WAS covering the actual cost of the rental, BUT I was paying out of pocket for the extra insurance to cover all of my bases. To be clear, I chose that extra protection and am not saying that is on Major’s plate, but when I was told that as a courtesy they would cover some of that and don’t end up doing it, that is frustrating on my end. Especially considering it should have only taken 5-6 days to complete based on the total hours on the final bill and Erie mandating them to work on the vehicle 5 hours a day. I understand things happen and delays are normal, but there was also a delay and a longer-than-advised repair when I used Major’s last year. I think Major’s does fantastic work and was satisfied both times, but I can’t say the same with my experience from a customer service perspective. I am a little disappointed there, but trying to get $80-$100 back isn’t worth the hassle. I won’t say that I don’t recommend Major’s, but I would plan for multiple days to a week longer than the estimated date if using them. I am thankful for their great work again on my vehicle.

I just waited a few more days for the part to be delivered, but overall there was good communication and the service was excellent.

I utilized majors for a bumper/fog light/AC compressor replacement after an accident. The customer service was very good, and the quality of the repair was excellent, as I couldn't even tell upon post-repair inspection that my car had been through an accident and had significant body work performed. Majors also worked with my insurer, and assisted with returning my rental car. Overall, I would recommend Major's for body work.
