DISASTER. I called this office directly several weeks before I needed a car. Spoke to a guy named Tyler (on several occasions as a matter of fact.) Oddly enough, he wasn't there the day I arrived. My question was "Would it be possible to get a small BMW for that weekend?" The answer was 'yes'. (What else was I to believe, considering I'm talking directly TO THE Agency, and not the local funeral home or grocery store?) "Can I have it left in the lot where my plane arrives?" The answer was 'yes', considering the agency and the terminal are all right there together. I gave my card number.. and the Emerald number (Which, I now understand, in this company is essentially meaningless) I rec'd a confirmation. And that was that. Until the day of arrival. I asked the person at the terminal where my plane landed: "Was there a car or key left for me by National?" "No... not that we know of.. and we have a pretty good relationship with that office. But it's right next to us, if you want to just walk over." So, I walked over - They looked for my reservation and said... "We have a Camry for you." What about the BMW I reserved? "Well... we had an Audi for you but it came in damaged this morning.. So now we have this nice Camry for you". Wow - ok. I said... "Here's what I think: I don't think there was ever an Audi, and I certainly don't think there was ever going to be a BMW - and the only thing that was damaged here this morning was your reputation. We both know that a BMW was only going to happen if I just happened to be extremely lucky. And the reason I think that is because you would have contacted the office where you agreed to leave the key and asked them to please explain why you could not follow through with the arrangement." Body language says a LOT. And he wouldn't even look at me. As if he had been required to do damage control so many times.. he was just over it. I almost felt sorry for him. I told him so. "It must be terribly humiliating, thinking you were in the service industry and helping people.. and your company comes along and puts you in a position where you are forced to do Damage control instead." He didn't argue or get defensive.. he just moved on, as if resigned to his fate. It was ok that there was no BMW - What was not ok was that they just let me walk in after stepping off a plane with no heads up or text or note at the terminal, whatsoever. (I know they text.. because they sent non stop texts the day before my return asking me to confirm the return.) Enterprise New Motto - "We'll Stick You Up. or Once Burnt - Forever Learnt, as they used to say in my hometown. *** Follow Up - I see HOW QUICKLY someone named Heather JUMPED RIGHT ON the negative review. If only her company had Jumped Right On doing what they promised to begin with, she would never had to bother in the first place. I can't imagine how low her self esteem must be to continue to be an apologist for a system which simply does not work. As well as employees running the office having the consciousness level of a blank slate. NO, Heather.. I'm not going to click on your link. I'm not going to fill out any meaningless questionnaires... I don't want a refund.. I don't want a discount. I'm DONE.. and going to warn as many people as I possibly can.
