Had issues with this company in the beginning but the intoxalock customer service came through big. Surprised me. If anybody has a problem with this service in the beginning don't worry they do have customer service that can actually do something for you. Just got to find them. Intoxalock pricing is on the lower end of the spectrum which helps. Just don't pay over $400 to have the device installed because that's just absurd and legit robbery.

Nathaly was awesome at my initial install set up . She was patient, kind, sympathetic, understanding and a pleasure to deal with during a situation that was unpleasant to say the least. I am still waiting for the $100 rebate I was promised almost 2 months later... I tried calling customer service two weeks ago and after several attempts I somehow accidentally got a live person on the phone who told me they would go back and have to listen to the initial recorded conversation and confirm that a rebate was offered then send me an email with a form for me to fill out requesting the rebate before they can send it.... Still waiting for the email 2 weeks later..... please make it easier for people to continue to contact customer service and get their issues resolved. Some issues are urgent and are costly if my husband can't drive to work.
Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
