- RERichard EvansFeb 12, 20265.0I am a first-time customer at Advanced Auto Parts on 22nd street. I called this morning to check to see if they had a battery for my 2013 Ford Escape that was shown in stock on the website. Joe at the store verified that this was the correct battery for my car and also double checked to make sure the battery was indeed in stock. It was in stock and Joe said that it will be waiting for you on the customer sales counter when you arrive today. When I arrived, the battery was waiting for me, and I asked if he could install it and Joe said yes. We discussed some other items that I added to my purchase and proceeded outside to install the battery. It was a cold February day in the 20s with a stiff windchill. If you haven't installed a 2013 Escape battery before it is not an easy project. It took a while because you have to remove parts of the engine to access and remove and then install the battery. The cold didn't help but Joe stayed after it and never complained. Once completed I started the car to test, and it was a job well done. I told Joe that he earned my business today and I am looking forward to buying more auto products from Advanced Auto parts in the future. Joe did an excellent job for me, and he deserves a raise if I were his boss. Thanks again Joe! Respectfully. Rich E.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.
How much does a car battery cost?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
