- BRB ReynoldsNov 7, 20252.0When you buy a BMW, you expect top notch service. Recently, BMW has a large recall on their brakes. I made an appointment weeks ahead. My wife drove with me to drop off my car at the appointed time. As soon as we got home, the dealer called and said they didn’t have the part, and I needed to make another appointment when the part comes in. Also, it would take 2 days instead of the 2 hours they said on the recall notice. My wife had to accompany me again to get my car back. Even though the dealership was 15 mins away, 4 trips cost us an hour each. For an high-end dealer, I expect them to have reviewed all their tickets a few days before to ensure they had parts on hand, esp. this is a large recall, not a one-off repair. Unacceptable. On the flip side, my spouse has an Audi. She had a recall on her car last year. We dropped her car off (next door to this BMW dealer), they treated her like a queen. The car was done exactly when they had promised her. She teased that I should have gotten an Audi.
