I took it to Advanced Auto Parts and Mark noticed that I was sold the entirely wrong battery and there was damage to the mount and battery itself. Mark got me a brand new battery, tested everything, and fixed it up in half the time I spent down the street at the other shop. Super nice guys, very knowledgeable, and super efficient. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
