🚨 BUYER BEWARE – GENERAL RV ELIZABETHTOWN, PA 🚨
General RV in Elizabethtown, PA knowingly sold us a defective unit that should never have passed pre-delivery inspection.
We purchased this RV in August 2025. By October 2025, it was already back in the shop—where it has remained.
Serious and dangerous defects include:
• Slides deploying while driving
• Refrigerator ripping loose from its enclosure THREE times
• Severely misaligned siding on both sides
. Master Bedroom floors spongy
. Master Bed came off the frame and the frame shattered
. Caps missing from slides
Forest River scheduled Lippert to go out and inspect the unit and we requested to he present and Lippert and General RV agreed - to our surprise Lippert came out 2 days early and we weren’t notified and was not told by Amanda that they weed there until after they left - we find this deceptive as well and we were told by Amanda that Lippert would call us to discuss their findings which they never did … Amanda told us that Lippert confirmed the frame is NOT bent. However, the cab built by Forest River on top of that frame is CROOKED, with gaps as wide as 4–6 inches. This is a manufacturing failure—plain and simple.
These defects were either missed or ignored by General RV during inspection. Slide caps are missing, along with multiple other critical components. This RV was never road-ready.
Despite this unit being only 5 months old and fully under warranty, and obviously a defected unit - General Rv service manager Amanda’s response was essentially: “The frame isn’t bent, so it’s safe—come pick it up.”
She even stated in a email this is a “busy time for us” as justification for refusing proper repairs.
Let that sink in:
They admit the cab was built crooked, yet still expect us to take possession and accept it.
Once they had our money, customer safety and accountability disappeared.
We are publicly documenting this experience so other buyers are warned before trusting General RV or Forest River. We will pursue this to the highest possible level until a full and proper resolution is reached.

The advisor was very helpful (Missy). Some of the ways to get things done are a little odd. From past experience you took RV to dealer to get things taken care of. Now I had to contact manufacturer which got with dealer and oh my. Had to take RV to dealer for them to look at, pick back up and bring back for work to be done. Holy crap.

Ok now that the service is done, I am finishing my review of General RV Canton OH and Elizabethtown PA. So, this will be on our experience with service at Elizabethtown. I am still very impressed with General RV, (all aspects) the service team is so well organized, when you pull in, they have a team there ready to go over all your issues and even have a stair to see the top of your unit.
We had a list of shake down issues that they noted and marked on the RV (with painter tape), the team lead by a fantastic service advisor Elisha Ulrich started working on the issues, knowing we needed the RV for a show at Hershey, in short time, the team worked on what they could and ordered parts for when we could bring the RV back to finish work. when we brought the unit back, we had a few more issues, one of which needed to be handled by the external warranty we purchased (highly recommend getting the external warranty when you buy a RV) and Elisha handled the whole process, we had to do nothing, so amazing. Elisha keep me updated with calls, emails and text as needed on the repairs, I never had to wonder where we stood,
This has been my best experience with buying and servicing our units (3rd). We will start our next chapter of our life with full time RVing in February and I believe that General RV will be with us for the full life journeys Elisha and her all staff where fantastic, and I will recommend to everyone to buy and service their RVs at General RV
Thanks again General RV Team
