They worked as a team and got the job done. They were kind and patient with this vehicle illiterate girl. They definitely were a blessing!
- KKKasarahanneJul 21, 20251.0Gerrod was less than a stellar experience. Not knowledgeable or helpful at all and was rude on top of it. I went for a simple turn signal bulb and asked for assistance putting it in because I do not own tools and had to get to work by 8 am. It was 7:34 whej i pulled up. They open at 7:30. He laughed and told me they didn't do that anymore (i usually go to Auto Zone, and they do). I asked if he could give me a ratchet so I could do it myself then and he showed me tools. When asked if he could tell me which one to use he acted like I was inconvenient and went through every one and couldn't figure out which one to use. I left and went down the street to O'Reillys and the WOMAN working there got me the right ratchet AND put the bulb in. It was 2 screws and took 3 minutes to change. I will never go to an Advance Auto parts ever again.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
