Interestingly, I’d just had a full service at PE Honda less than a week ago; they noted some cracking but estimated the tires had another 5,000 miles left. Given the depth of the nail and the existing wear, I didn't want to risk it, so I decided to replace all four with Michelin Defenders (switching from Bridgestone). The service here was professional and impressively fast. Only time will tell if the upgrade was worth it, but I'm very happy with the work done.
