- LGLBI GregJan 21, 20263.0Will not honor Advance Auto price match Went in to the store for headlight bulbs, they were $59. I told the clerk that Advance Auto has a best price guarantee on their website and the bulbs were currently $45 at Walmart. A significant difference. He told me , "yeah we don't honor those guarantees at this store". Wow, really didn't know that was an option. I have has Home Depot, Best Buy, Walmart and others match prices locally. Will not shop here again. Their prices are the highest you are going to pay for auto parts, go to Walmart, shop on line or go to NAPA. Horrible service. Updated review to reflect response and offer of $15 credit. Appreciate Advance caring.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
