“I had an extremely disappointing experience at Valvoline. I went in for a routine oil change, and shortly after, my car developed serious engine issues. The oil leaked into my coil packs, causing a dangerous leak and damaging the engine. To make matters worse, the place was filled with young kids, straight out of school, who seemed untrained and careless. Now I’m facing a costly repair. I would not recommend this place to anyone.”
Even if they rectify the situation, I’m truthfully disappointed with the customer service that I was given today. I called Earlier today to ask if I could come in for an oil change and what was the latest time I could come. They told me that I could come 10 minutes even before close and they would be able to get me in. When I pulled in Two garages were closed and they had me pull into the Closest garage to the left that Was very difficult to pull into. There were four men standing inside. I rolled down my window and I said are you sure that I could pull in? They said yes And I completely scraped the entire side of my passenger car. The manager, Anthony Told me that this isn’t the first time that this happened and he’s told his manager about this. I understand that it was almost time for closing time , But do not take any more customers if you’re going to have absolute shitty customer service. You could tell that they were pissed that I was there because they wanted to go home so they didn’t give a damn about my car!
I’ve been coming to this Valvoline location for a while and usually purchase my synthetic oil changes through Groupon. I drive a 2018 Toyota Camry, and in the past, my total has always come to around $95–$100 TOTAL (75 for the Groupon price and 15-20 dollars extra at the shop for taxes and fees) after the Groupon, both at this location and at other Valvoline locations in Texas.
This time, I paid about $75 for the Groupon and expected a similar total. Instead, I was initially told I owed $160. After some back-and-forth, a woman came over and said the previous worker who had charged me around $100 in the past was fired for doing it incorrectly. That didn’t make sense to me, because I’ve had the exact same pricing setup at multiple Valvoline locations, including in Texas, not just here.
They told me my car requires a “special oil” and that I still owed an additional $75. In the end, I paid $160 total for a synthetic oil change on a 2018 Camry, which is far higher than what I’ve ever paid before for the same service.
The staff was polite, but the pricing felt inconsistent and wasn’t explained clearly upfront. If the final cost is going to be significantly higher than the Groupon price, that should be communicated before the service begins so customers can make an informed decision.
Unfortunately I’ll be going elsewhere because this felt very scammy to me
The technician there never even tightened the drain plug! He left the drain plug loose!!! I had oil leaking out of my SUV on my way home. Never ever GO BACK there again!!!

They were very helpful, not pushy at all. Showed me everything as they were doing it. I had a coupon and didn't know how to access it and they showed me. My overall experience was great. I highly recommend the Clarks Summit location.
