Been to this Advanced Auto store several times now, always fast helpful service. They also gave me the correct parts, wich in the past hasn't been the case, and is the biggest pain ever...

I wish i could give this store 0 stars. I am absolutely appalled at this stores customer service. Walked into this store with a battery that i ordered online and needed to exchange. Since it was an online order, i only had an order number instead of a barcode. The clerk was helping us and things were going decent. But then his colleague who turned out to be a manager started making comments about how we were taking up too much of his colleagues time (which was actually 20 minutes tops), how he was doing all the work himself around the store and was making a big deal because he wasn’t getting trash and register tills counted (meanwhile it’s 6:30pm & the store closes at 9pm). They started verbally arguing about how much still needed done before closing the store (ya know, with 3 hours left still until close) and the manager proceeds to use vulgar language, including the N word, in front of customers (including my 5yo daughter). My husband stepped in at that point and asked for the area managers phone number and we were told by both associates they don’t know it and they refused to give it to us. They decided they were going to kick us out of the store at that point for being disrespectful to them and would call the cops on us if we didn’t leave while still having our core charge battery behind the counter, which at that point we still owed. Mind you, we were in the middle of finalizing our transaction and we told them if we could finish the transaction we would leave because we had already swiped our card. They proceeded to say our card didn’t go through and to leave the store, but our account was charged so we knew it went through. Our 5yo daughter was hysterically crying over this altercation that all boils down to rude customer service and a “manager” who has absolutely no right to be in the position of authority in any customer service job.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?
Expand FAQ item
Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
