  We always stopped here while traveling south. We were happy with the food. Rv lane for fillup. This time we were disappointed. When trying to get gas our credit card received message that there was a machine failure . Then the card was rejected. Our pilot credit card also didn't work. Clerk said they have been have a problem with the card for over 6 months. The food was disappointing. I got the brisket over Mac and cheese and onion rings. The meat was over cooked to a burned crust. Mac and cheese was all sauce very little Mac. Hope next trip is better. Also trucks parked in rv parking spaces.

  ⭐️ 1 Iron Star — Flying J, Carlisle PA Honestly, I was torn between zero and one star, but I went with 1 Iron Star, purely because the staff was really friendly and managed to save a bit of the experience. Without them, it would have been zero. Unfortunately, this truck stop is completely outdated and disgusting. Cleanliness is clearly not a priority, and you can tell the place seriously needs a full renovation and proper maintenance. The moment you step inside, it shows. Showers: When I walked in, the smell was far from pleasant. Not unbearable, but it immediately gives off that “old, neglected” vibe. Thankfully, the water and pressure were good, so if you absolutely need a shower, it gets the job done—but it doesn’t make up for everything else. Bathrooms: This is the peak of gross. Clearly, no one has done proper cleaning in a long time. You really wonder how they can leave it like that, especially in a place full of truckers all day. Store: The only real positive here is the store. There’s a good variety of products—snacks, coffee, drinks, and some useful trucker stuff. Handy if you forgot something or need a quick caffeine fix, but that’s about it. Parking: Fills up fast and can feel tight for some trucks. Personally, I had no issues finding a spot, but at peak times, it could be a real headache to park. Overall vibe: Outdated, poorly maintained, and noisy. You can tell this place has seen better days, but it’s basically been left to decay. With a bit of upkeep, it could be a decent stop for truckers, but right now it’s far from it. In short: if you’re looking for a clean and comfortable place to take a break, this is not it. The only true positive is the friendly staff trying to make up for the terrible conditions. Everything else—showers, bathrooms, parking, overall vibe—is extremely disappointing. For a trucker, it’s a stop you can make if you have no other choice, but it’s not a place to relax or enjoy a proper break. In short, Flying J Carlisle: 1 Iron Star, and that’s solely because of the staff.

  Watch out for water in their fuel!!!! 2026 Volvo tractor with less than 30k miles. Fuel purchased at ONLY this location (Carlisle) for two months. Truck started losing power and running rough. Volvo found significant water in the fuel tanks. $12k damage done to the engine. Pilot/Flying J refuses to do anything about it, claiming it could not possibly be from their fuel. Fuel here at your own risk!!!
