Japanese Auto Repair provides brake service, tune-ups, fluid service, maintenance, suspension and exhaust work, and diagnostic services to the Portland Metro area.
I had gotten the diagnostic code and part for my Honda Accord's faulty transmission switch so I could replace it myself, only to find that I did not own the correct size of long socket and honestly, at that point, the wind left my sails since my work week starts tomorrow and so I decided to start calling dedicated Honda/Japanese import shops to see if any of them would A) accept the diagnostic code I had separately gotten and B) just install the unopened part I'd gotten from AutoZone and just charge me for the shop time. To my surprise and delight, Japanese Auto Repair, the very first place I called, was willing to do just that, and within the same hour as my call, no less. From the time I arrived to the time I shook hands with Francis and said goodbye and thank you, my car was in their shop for about an hour on the nose. Hell yeah. Can't describe how elated I am about the whole thing. Now I just need to get my own 22mm long socket so I can do the other switches, since now I can tell the difference between the new one and the rest of them while driving and it's grinding my gears (;
Pun absolutely intended.

Thoroughly satisfied! I have been bringing my cars to Japanese Auto for over 20 years. I can count on their great service and straightforward assessment of what my car needs. They never recommend a procedure unless it’s warranted and I’m always confident that after I leave, my car will be in optimal condition.

Really helpful folks, Chris is awesome and was very informative and patient. 2nd time I got serviced here and they charge a reasonable price for what Toyota would.
For a drivability inspection Toyota quoted 200+ and they charged less than 80 for half and hour inspection.

Older Toyota owners beware. I've Been coming here for years and recently called to get some work done (a diagnostic check) on my 92 pickup. They turned me away saying they changed ownership and the new mechanics can't work on 22re's, which is a Japanese classic.
