I think intoxalocks is way too big for their britches. Don’t let them bully you. Know your laws and your rights. Read their fine print and ask questions. These people are solely here for profit and not your best interest. Otherwise it was still 1 star worth from get go. There are other companies and I have a friend who went with someone else and had better results. Cheers

I had a rolling retest AFTER I exited my vehicle. Of course I wouldn’t know that a rolling retest was triggered. I don’t even listen to the radio when I drive now for fear of missing my retest. When I called to report that I had an error code “Viol 3” they insisted I missed a retest and that I needed to pay $75 for a lockout. They admit they had a photo of my dog in the drivers seat. Then they said it looked I had attempted to circumvent the system by shutting my vehicle off “after” the rolling retest was initiated. However then they stated I restarted my car five minutes later. And during that five min they captured my dog. I was doing errands. Yep. I left my vehicle for five minutes and got back in and started it. It’s just been me driving. And I had only left my vehicle for a few minutes. If you miss a retest when you’re driving you have 10 mins to take it. I didn’t miss anything. This is an exposure of an error in their programming. If I were trying to circumvent anything I wouldn’t have gotten back in my car and BLEW A 0 less than 10 mins later. This isn’t about keeping people safe, this is about money. I had three people quote the lease and manual to me stating I had missed the retest when I was out of my vehicle and my vehicle parked and off. They should be willing to understand that this isn’t me trying to drink and drive this is an error. And getting a manager on the phone is the HARDEST thing to do. All three individuals I spoke to were rude and awful. Each experience I have with this company is worse than the last. I am PROUD of my sobriety and DO NOT appreciate being accused of CIRCUMVENTING the device when I was RUNNING ERRANDS. These people ought to be ashamed of themselves for what they put me through this morning. I wasn’t drinking, wasn’t cheating anything. I don’t deserve the treatment or the fee.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance.
