About a year ago, we had our windshield replaced on our Mercedes at the Eugene Safelite facility. Shortly, after the replacement, the multifunction camera on the front windshield stopped working. We asked the dealership why that might’ve occurred and they indicated the camera had just failed. Suspecting the camera was not defective, and that it was caused when the glass was installed, we took it back to Safelite for a possible correction. After a short time, the technician indicated that he could not fix it because the camera could not be cleaned and it appeared there was some debris on the camera lens. After further inspection, it became obvious that the windshield was not cleaned prior to the installation, and the camera was having a difficult time seeing through the film on the inside of the windshield. To clean this meant, we needed to have the camera uninstalled, that area of the windshield cleaned and the camera reinstalled. Because of Safelite’s lack of attention to detail this system malfunction took nearly a year to resolve. It also cost several hundred dollars in labor to correct for Safelite oversight. The worst part of this experience was that Safelite’s manager(Andrew) would not take responsibility for the issue. This could all have been avoided if the technician would have cleaned the camera area of the windshield prior to the installation and it should have been corrected by Safelite once the problem was identified. Lastly, get a new phone system. The one you have is annoying enough to drive people away from doing business with you.

- RRRianOct 29, 20251.0Window broken on the 21st, immediately scheduled a fix for the 22nd in my app and took the day off work. No call, rescheduled to the 23rd, didn’t find out until I checked the website. When I called to ask what in the world had happened and why I hadn’t received a call, they said they could meet me at my work the morning of the 23rd. I get a call the morning of the 23rd from the tech, super excited to meet me that AFTERNOON. The tech was helpful and the repair was clean but the hassle of working with this company and the thoroughly rude, unhelpful employees removed years from my life expectancy. Do not waste your time with this shop and go elsewhere unless you have days and days of spare time you can let them screw with.
