If you like gas-pump ads being blasted at you loudly enough to make your ears bleed, this is the place for you. Also, price gouging on most items in the store. It's a shame as this used to be a great travelers' stop. It's a never-again for me.

I am a 71 yr old newly widowed grandma and had driven up from the Southern California desert with two girlfriends and realized after I dropped them off at their destination at about 3:30 or four in the afternoon that I would need to replace my windshield wipers before I continued up to Portland alone because I was heading into a storm, and the sun was beginning to go down. (Hadn’t replaced the wiper blades in over two years. Living in the desert, they probably got used twice in that time, and had a better chance of being rotted by the heat and the sun.) I purchased two wiper blades for my vehicle and realized I couldn’t figure out how to put them on. I went back in to see what could be done. I tried Google, but it was not connecting to their Wi-Fi. One of the guys suggested a YouTube video, but I was getting nothing so the one young man called another to assist and both came out to help me. One googled info and watched a YouTube video on how to install the wiper blades while the other followed his instructions. One of them even had to call his wife because she had just purchased a similar vehicle (KIA, but different model) and the instructions were very strange indeed. (I have replaced many wiper blades in my day. KIA has made replacing them on their new vehicles much more complicated than necessary!) They finally got them installed and the whole process had taken between 30 and 45 minutes, maybe longer. The entire time they were so kind and helpful and concerned about me and went way above and beyond to help this little old lady and make sure that I was safe. Kudos to the one man’s wife as well (lol!) who was able to read from her Manuel how to get the dumb windshield wipers to clear the hood of the car so that the blades could be installed! I tried to give them a tip and they refused it saying that a good review would mean more to them. The men were Chris Henderson and Dale Vernholm at the Chemult, OR Pilot Travel Center. I will forever be indebted to them as humans and a loyal Pilot Travel Center Customer anytime I travel from now on. Thank you again!!

My favorite small town. Cafe next door is the best! Lots of options within walking distance.
