    Absolutely atrocious service. Avoid at all cost. No one there when we arrived. Didn’t pick up when we tried to call. We spent $60 dollars on a taxi and once we got to the hotel, we were contacted via phone. We were told we could come back to pick up the car at 10 pm. Two of us went to pick up the cars. No one was there at 10 pm so we had to wait until perhaps 1030 to get the car keys. We were planning on traveling to Quebec the same evening but had to spend perhaps $1,000 on hotel rooms for the five of us. Just horrible service.

    Had a great experience renting from National. The vehicle was clean and tidy. The staff were very pleasant. Pick up and drop off was easy.

    I'm not normally one to give negative reviews but after reading some of the comments below, I thought it might be worthwhile to share my most recent experience renting from this location. I've been a long-time Avis customer and the Avis at the Timmins airport has been nothing but wonderful; however, for the last work trip, the company booked me at the National because of cheaper rates. Anyhow, my colleague and I landed in Timmins yesterday after a terrible snow storm. We found out that all the major highways were closed so we understand the state and situation and we were patient. Upon getting to the car, we got told by the very nice gentleman that the pumps were frozen and he told to bring the car with the gas tank empty. So I proceeded to ask how much gas was in the tank...well, nothing...it was empty...with the light already on and everything...I got the alert that there's only 60km left on mileage upon accepting the car. Given the situation that all the pumps in the city were frozen too...I understand. So fine, we had to get to town at least so we accepted the vehicle. Now fast forward to day #2. Getting to our car at 5am in the morning to catch our 7am flight...only realizing there's no snow brush on the car either. There was a good layer of ice on that windshield and we had nothing... I return the vehicle thinking all is good. Landed back home; check email and found out I've been charged $101.66 refueling charge!! SERIOUSLY? Tried calling the kiosk and of course, like some have already mentioned, no one picks up. I dialed between 9am - 12pm - nobody - just voicemail. I tried to call the main line too and was told nobody can do anything except the airport...LIKE REALLY? So finally, I call the airport line again and redial the number left on their voicemail, hopeful I get to speak to someone other than an answering machine. A lady name Britney on the other end was very sweet and offers to text the people at the kiosk. I left my number hoping someone could call me back and speak with me regarding the situation but no one calls. Instead, I receive a new invoice with an adjusted price; which I have no idea what the numbers mean anymore and not sure if the charges were adjusted properly. I will have to wait until the charges get posted on my Visa card to make sure everything was fixed properly? Another thing to add onto my to-do list. Funny how no one is available to speak and rectify any issues/concerns eh? I find the customer service (post/pre-sale) so unprofessional. My colleague and I will definitely reconsider our options the next time we return for our business trip. You may want to reconsider paying a little more at a different rental company to ensure you don't need to go through the same troubles and headaches we went through given already in a super stressful situation. Hope this helps anyone looking for a rental. I'm sorry to say this but I wouldn't want anybody to be put in the same situation my colleague and I had to endure both yesterday and today.

    Never answer the phone, unfriendly. Only reason they exist is because you have no choice.

    Their phone must be disconnected... Called 4-5 times on different days/different times, never got an answer. Went with budget and got it done on first call.
