I am writing to share concerns about the condition of my vehicle after repairs completed at Assured Concordia East Collision (Cyrville Rd location) in August 2025. While this review comes months later, I feel it is important to speak up about my experience so that others are fully informed before trusting this facility with their vehicle.
On July 21, 2025, I brought my 2017 Honda Civic in for repairs after bumper damage that also dented the condenser and affected the air conditioning system (approximately $6,000 in damage). Upon arrival, the staff were welcoming and the representative handling my file was polite and respectful.
I picked up my vehicle on July 30 at approximately 4:00 PM and was told it was fully repaired. While the bumper work appeared well done and the AC was functioning again, I immediately noticed serious performance issues upon leaving the lot:
-Significant loss of engine power
-Difficulty accelerating
-A loud whistling noise that had never been present before
That same evening, I emailed the customer service representative. The following morning, I was asked to send video evidence, which I did by 10:42 AM. That same morning, all dashboard warning lights illuminated. I immediately followed up.
Concerned for my safety, I returned to the shop on July 31 around 3:00 PM. A code reset was performed and a follow-up appointment scheduled for August 6. However, within 10 km of driving away, all warning lights returned and the acceleration issues persisted.
I want to emphasize clearly: none of these issues existed prior to the repair.
On August 2, during a short grocery trip, the situation worsened dramatically:
-All dashboard warning lights illuminated immediately
-Severe acceleration problems made highway driving unsafe
-A strong rotten egg odor was present
-The vehicle stalled twice
-The passenger side under the hood was extremely hot
Out of concern for my safety, I returned the vehicle that evening (around 9:00 PM), left the keys in the drop box, and notified the representative by email.
On August 5, I was informed that the catalytic converter was clogged and that replacement would cost approximately $6,000. I was told insurance would not cover this and that had they known, the vehicle might have been written off.
I reiterated that my vehicle had no such issues prior to the repair and that I was confident this was not accident-related. I requested scan reports from before and after the repair. The documentation showed no prior faults before the vehicle was serviced.
When I met with the manager, to discuss my concerns, the interaction was extremely disappointing. Instead of addressing the technical issues, I was met with a defensive tone and dismissive responses. When I calmly explained that I had no prior vehicle issues and was simply seeking clarity, I was asked, “Are you trying to say that we damaged your car?” I made it clear I was not placing blame — only stating facts.
The lack of accountability and professionalism during that meeting was deeply upsetting.
Given my concerns, I took the vehicle to my own independent mechanic. The findings were alarming:
-Intercooler pipes were loose
-Intercooler assembly was loose
-Mounting brackets were missing
-Seals and gaskets were missing
-Ambient temperature sensor and harness were improperly wrapped around the ACC module
These are not minor oversights. These are serious assembly and quality control failures.
I am extremely disappointed in the lack of care, competence, and attention to detail shown in the reassembly of my vehicle. What began as a bumper and AC repair resulted in a vehicle that was unsafe to drive and significantly more compromised than when it was initially brought in.
For these reasons, I cannot recommend this business. I believe customers deserve transparency, accountability, and proper workmanship when trusting a repair facility with their vehicle.
