I had a really poor experience today with Enterprise, especially at the North York Centre location.
This was my first time renting with Enterprise, and I wasn’t aware that a credit card was mandatory. I waited in the queue, completed the check-in, and when I tried to pay with my debit card, the staff asked if I had a credit card. I said no. The employee then told me I could pay when returning the car and proceeded to complete the booking instead of stopping the process there.
She arranged for me to be sent to another Enterprise branch because no cars were available locally. I was dropped off along with other customers. I waited there for almost an hour. When they finally gave me the car, they again asked for payment. I tried with my debit card, and again they refused — only credit cards accepted.
They then ran some “credit eligibility check” on my name, said I didn’t meet the requirement, denied the rental, and the supervisor dropped me back home.
This entire issue happened because the North York Centre location didn’t follow basic procedure or verify requirements upfront. The result: almost 3 hours wasted for something that could have been avoided with a simple check at the first counter.

The staff at the location were really helpful, for some reason my cards cards didn't work and they were super patient with me to walk me through the process with a debit card. Ended up getting lucky with a brand new mazda! The return process was easy and everything went smoothly. A bit tricky to find the location but other than that, everything was great. Thanks again to you both :)

Dear Enterprise Customer Relations,
I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the extremely unprofessional and discriminatory treatment I received at your branch located at 5150 Yonge St, Basement P4, North York, ON M2N 6L8, on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m.
I visited this branch to pick up a rental vehicle arranged through my insurance company, Desjardins, under Claim Number: R3949070. Prior to arriving, I attempted to contact the branch several times to schedule an appointment and remained on hold for over 10 minutes without anyone answering.
Upon my arrival, I was informed that I could not be assisted because I did not have an appointment. I explained that I had tried to call multiple times but was unable to reach anyone. The two employees at the counter laughed at each other and responded that they “don’t answer because they are too busy.”
I calmly tried to explain that my daughter, who is autistic, was waiting outside in very cold weather. Instead of showing empathy or professionalism, the employees mocked me, my daughter, and my family, saying it was “not their problem” that my daughter was unwell.
I want to emphasize that autism is not an illness, but a condition that requires understanding and patience—qualities your staff clearly lacked.
Their behavior was disrespectful, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable, especially considering that my daughter was visibly distressed and crying. To date, I have not received the vehicle I was supposed to pick up.
I will be escalating this matter with my insurance provider, Desjardins, as well as with other relevant platforms and consumer protection agencies, to ensure that this incident is properly investigated and that appropriate actions are taken.
I am also attaching a photo of the employees involved, as evidence of this incident.
I trust that Enterprise, as a reputable company, will address this situation seriously and take the necessary steps to ensure that no other customer or child with disabilities is ever treated in such a degrading manner again.

I have rented from the location a few times. Overall, I have had a good experience with the team. Arpit is professional and helps to onboard quickly. If you request a drop off/ pick up service in advance (on weekdays), they provide it. Thank you to Francis for a smooth and quick drop off :)
