⭐️ 0/5 if I could. Absolutely unfair treatment.
I had one of the worst rental experiences here, mainly due to a very rude supervisor and misleading staff.
I called ahead to confirm if they had a luxury car with winter tires. I was clearly told yes. Everything was fine—until they found out I was referred through TD Insurance. The moment that came up, the story flipped instantly. Suddenly, no luxury car, no winter tires, nothing. Denied straight to my face.
This already felt suspicious because last week I picked up a vehicle from them and they also didn’t provide winter tires, asking me to “wait a few days” and promising a callback. Surprise: they never called. When I later visited their Kanata location, they assured me I’d at least get a Pacifica van instead of a luxury car. Again—empty promises.
When I confronted the Merivale branch about this contradiction, the staff member backed off, and then his rude manager jumped on the call, trying damage control. His excuse? “The agent is new and didn’t know.”
That’s hard to believe when:
I asked very specific questions
He checked everything on the computer
He kept me on hold for over 10 minutes
So yes, he absolutely knew what he was doing.
The takeaway? Customers coming through insurance are clearly treated differently, and not in a good way.
I immediately called TD Insurance, explained the entire situation, and guess what? Within ONE HOUR, AVIS arranged a luxury car with winter tires. No drama. No lies. No attitude.
Friendly advice:
If you’re renting through an insurance company, avoid this location. You’ll save your time, your energy, and honestly—your safety.
Very disappointing experience. Zero accountability. Zero trust.

They very respectful and polite, great place to rent a car from. Definitely if I need to rent a car again I know where to go.
Thank you.
The service was excellent and staff very professional. I would recommend enterprise anytime someone wants a rental. They picked and dropped me off at the repair shop. Hats off to Sean hubbard. Thank you for your excellent service.

I took a week off work, rented an SUV, to make a couple road trips for visits with family, friends and other appointments.
From the start, the team at Enterprise on Merivale treated me (and treats me) with respect, kindness and compassion.
I was able to afford the rental but not the insurance. By talking to the team at Enterprise, they helped me out so that I was able to afford the rental and the insurance, it just meant lowering the time of the rental, and as funds became available, I could modify the rental, keeping the vehicle, all online.
I was grateful that they always work on solutions.
Also really grateful that they upgraded me a notch, which (was really great on gas),
As well, helped a great friend of mine clear out junk from a room in her house and we dropped the junk off at the junkyard.
When returning the vehicle,
They also gave me a ride to where I requested to be dropped off,
Finding the best route through traffic.
Whenever I’ve rented from the Merivale location of Enterprise, I’ve always been grateful because of the way they treat me and how everything always works out.
Enterprise seems to always provide me with a great experience.
Thank you all very much for being the wonderful people that you are.

During the rental, the vehicle provided to me was in substandard condition. The interior was dirty, and after using the windshield washer fluid only once, it ran out completely, indicating that the car had not been properly inspected before being handed over to me.
At the time of pick-up, the employee who delivered the vehicle informed me that I needed to pay a $100 deposit, which would be refunded upon return. He also stated that the protection coverage was optional and cost $20 total. Based on that information, I agreed. He then asked me to sign the contract while I was still inside the car.
However, when I returned the vehicle today, I was unexpectedly told that I owed $722 for protection because the charge was actually $20 per day, not $20 total. This was never explained to me at any point. The employee claimed that they had called me and left a voicemail because the charges were increasing. I received no calls and no voicemails.
I made it clear that I would not pay an amount I was never informed about. This misunderstanding was entirely due to the employee’s incorrect explanation of the fees. Despite this, I was pressured and threatened into paying. I even contacted my insurance company in front of the employee, and they confirmed that I was not obligated to pay for optional protection. The employee insisted that because I had signed the contract—after being misled—the responsibility was mine.
This situation was extremely stressful and unprofessional. Being told something is “only $20” and later being charged $722 is unacceptable. The behavior I encountered felt misleading and coercive. Based on my experience, I strongly advise others to be cautious, as this location’s practices can easily lead to customers being misinformed and overcharged.
