I had a great experience with Sixt Toronto and I am genuinely grateful for how far the team went to accommodate us.
Due to a cancelled flight we arrived one day later than planned, and as a result the SUV we originally booked was no longer available. We were given a Toyota Camry instead, which I actually preferred in the end. It was a pleasure to drive.
Despite the complications caused by booking through a third party platform, the Sixt staff did everything they could to help us. They were even able to change our return location to downtown Toronto at no extra cost, which I really appreciated after all the hassle we had through Booking and Expedia.
This experience taught me a clear lesson. Sixt was not the problem at all. Booking through a third party was. In the future I will book directly with Sixt without hesitation.
Big thanks to the team at Sixt Toronto for their professionalism, flexibility, and kindness.

My experience at Sixt has been unfortunately terrible. I booked a reservation on January 11th for 8pm I drove all the way from Scarborough to be told they do not have any cars available. I was then provided with a phone number to contact the branch directly. I was informed by the employee to give them a call around 6pm and they will have vehicles available. I called the store as instructed on January 12th at 6:11pm to ensure the vehicles were there, I spoke with an employee who initially advised me no vehicles were available.
At this time I'm confused because I was informed vehicles would be available I told the employee what I was told and he advised that he'd be able to get a vehicle for me. I arrived at the store at about 10 pm to pick up the vehicle to be told I need an additional piece of ID(I had my health card renewal paper- Which apparently is not accepted by sixt) which I was not informed prior to arrival. Overall my experience has not been pleasant and it's been a waste of time.

I rented a car from this company monthly for about six to eight months in 2024. After that, I had a few more rentals, but overall, I had a great experience until they moved to a new location.
However, on January 5th, I had a terrible experience. I was asked to leave the place and they didn’t even give me a vehicle. The person who spoke to me, Charlie, was incredibly racist and abusive. He humiliated and mistreated me.
I’ve submitted a complaint to customer service and I’m waiting for a response. I also have video footage of the incident and have partially recorded it.
This place used to be great, but the new people who moved in have ruined it. I don’t think the associates here own the company and should be giving customers excellent service. I remember the previous staff being so friendly and helpful.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I’ve seen other recent negative reviews, and not surprised that I’m not the only one who’s had a bad experience.

Terrible location, terrible service.
I am an elite SIXT member, booked an X3 suv a month in advance, on the pick up day, they told me we don't have any SUV, so I had to pick up a Sedan.
To add to the insult, they sent me an invoice later claiming the prepaid voucher wasn't enough to cover the rental cost.
I can't believe SIXT is acting like this! I paid 3x the rental cost assuming i would get server like all other SIXT locations in the State.

Requested a car from a specific large SUV class and not only did they not have the cars from the class I reserved, but the largest SUV they had was an Audi Q3 which is basically just a sedan wearing an SUV disguise. Smaller on the inside than a mid sized sedan. Left our travels cramped and barely able to function. They then charge an "upgrade" fee of $15/day to switch from the large SUV I booked to the Audi, which was our only SUV option. No car variety and bait and switch practices made the car rental process less enjoyable, made us cramped and unfunctional, and cost us more money. Not sure if this is a standard SIXT practice or more specific to this location, but I would only consider working with SIXT again as a last resort, and would be diligent to ensure they have the requested vehicle prior to arrival.
