I had made a reservation with Avis 10 days ahead of time. I ensured to locate the section about the credit card hold that is required. After traveling all day with my child, I show up at the counter of the Ottawa Avis car rental, they tell me more than double the amount, their their hands up and tell me there's nothing they can do. The female manager in sure couldn't be bothered to stand up and walk ten feet to address a customer in dire straits. She keep sending her poor subordinate to come and tell me how there was nothing they could do. How they would not escalate it to anyone because even the "president of the company" couldn't help me. It was then that Enterprise, specifically the young lady Sabrina told me, "Don't worry. We will find a solution for you" AND SHE DID. She messaged her supervisor and applied veteran discounts (yes, it applies to me) and any other thing she could. In the end Enterprise was able to give me a car rental and help me out of a desperate situation caused by the lousy service at Avis . Sabrina deserves high praise. Give that last a promotion!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a great experience renting with Enterprise at the Ottawa Airport, and I especially want to thank Vheneko Chizanga for her outstanding support. She was extremely helpful, professional, and accommodating throughout my rental period. From assisting with vehicle availability to making the extension process smooth and stress-free, she went above and beyond to ensure everything was handled properly. I really appreciated her flexibility in maintaining my rental rate and her clear communication at every step. It made a big difference in my overall experience. Highly recommend this location, and if you get a chance to work with Vheneko, you’re in great hands!

I had a very disappointing and unsafe experience with Enterprise. I rented a vehicle in Ottawa, and during my trip, the car suddenly broke down in the middle of traffic in Saint-Jérôme. This created a dangerous situation where I could have easily been involved in an accident. I tried calling the branch and roadside assistance more than 10 times with no answer. I was even redirected to U.S. numbers where my calls were not handled. I was left stranded in freezing weather for over 3 hours with no support. Because of this, I had no choice but to pay for a tow truck myself. Only later was I able to get help and a replacement vehicle. Despite all of this, Enterprise is now refusing to reimburse me and is even attempting to charge additional fees, arguing that I did not take their insurance. This makes no sense, as the issue was clearly caused by a failure of the vehicle, not by me. This experience showed a serious lack of reliability, customer support, and accountability. I expected much better from a company like Enterprise. I strongly recommend being cautious when renting here. UPDATE: After sending an email, I was contacted by Enterprise. However, instead of properly resolving the issue, I was offered only a partial reimbursement for the towing fees. I was told that I am “responsible for the vehicle even if the issue was not caused by me,” which is extremely concerning. The vehicle broke down due to a mechanical issue, and I was unable to reach their assistance services despite calling more than 10 times. I was left stranded in freezing weather for over 3 hours and had no choice but to pay for towing myself. What is even more disappointing is that I was then given an ultimatum: accept a partial reimbursement or receive nothing at all. This kind of response shows a serious lack of accountability and customer care. Instead of taking responsibility for a defective vehicle and lack of support, they are trying to shift the cost onto the customer. I expected much better from a company like Enterprise. I strongly advise others to be cautious.

I’ve been renting with Enterprise for over 10 years, but my most recent experience at the airport location was completely unacceptable. I booked a vehicle in Enterprise’s highest category (Maserati, Range Rover, or similar). About a week before my rental, I called the location to ask what vehicles they currently had available and specifically mentioned that I did not want a Volvo XC90, which was suggested to me on the phone. I was told they would make a note of that on my reservation. When I arrived at the airport to pick up my vehicle, the employee assisting me (who I was told his name as “Omar” by the manager) offered me… a Volvo XC90. Aside from the fact that I had already specifically declined that vehicle in advance, a Volvo XC90 is not remotely comparable to a Maserati or Range Rover. Even Enterprise’s own booking system shows the Volvo in a completely different category. When I pointed this out and showed him a screenshot from the Enterprise app, he insisted that it was the same class and repeatedly responded with “yes it is, BROTHER.” The tone and attitude were extremely unprofessional. I asked to speak with a manager. The manager eventually came over, listened to the situation, and after a few minutes offered me a Mercedes GLS, which I accepted as it was at least in the appropriate luxury SUV category. However, she then had the same employee complete my check-in despite his earlier behavior, which was surprising from a management standpoint. Before leaving, I spoke with the manager privately and explained that the interaction with the employee was unacceptable. She apologized and told me she would call me later to offer some type of adjustment or discount on the rental. That call never happened. Instead, I later received a call from Enterprise’s risk management team, saying the manager had reported that I made threats — which is completely false. The only thing I said was that the way the employee was speaking to customers was unacceptable and that one day he may say the wrong thing to the wrong person. I ended up having a productive conversation with someone named Preston from head office and am now waiting for the area manager to contact me regarding this situation. At this point, what should have been a simple apology has turned into something much bigger because of how this was handled internally. If this is not resolved appropriately, I will be disputing the rental with my credit card company given that the vehicle class I reserved was not initially provided. Very disappointing experience from a company I’ve trusted for over a decade.
