Dealer couldn't get me in quickly for a Jaguar F-pace fault code for 'Power Steering Assist Reduced'. Common on these cars to have water intrusion on steering motor, so I wanted them to confirm.
I was quoted $4800 for a new steering rack for what they called a 'failed gear'. I asked them for additional details and they backpedaled, and I was told 'let me check with mechanic'.
I then asked them to check the fault codes and see if the Power Steering Control Module had disabled the electric motor on the rack. Asked them to check the PSCM, they called back a couple days later and told me they put a new battery in and it corrected the power distribution issue.
It didnt end there.
I was told the car was 'smoking' while test-driven down the road.
I asked for further details and was told it was a coolant leak.
Another common failure on these cars with the plastic-fused coolant fittings, microscopic leaks. Coolant lost of maybe a quart every 5k miles, but they reported to me the car was 'smoking'.
I didnt have time to pull the supercharger myself so I let them fix the coolant leak.
I do not recommend them....maybe basic repairs, however I would think twice about trusting their diagnostics. Take it to the professionals.

Took my 2004 VW Jetta back to my favorite auto shop, Briarwood in Tulsa,OK for an oil change and weather specific checks, but also for a terrible grinding noise I had noticed especially in rainy weather. They diagnosed wheel bearings in need of replacement. They got the repair done on day #2 and I know they have done a good job. I will be returning next month for new front brakes. I appreciate the transparency with estimates and pictures before my approval for the needed repairs.
I feel they can be trusted to complete auto repairs in an honest and dependable manner.

Helped determine that the failing part was actually a part covered under my manufacture's warranty. This was after the dealership inspected the car and thought it was something else. Went back to the dealership and got the part replaced for free. I appreciate their honesty! They saved me over a thousand dollars on this repair alone!

We’ve used Briarwood for our service needs for over 5 years. They’ve worked on several of our family’s vehicles and always done a great job. They’ve replaced water pumps, alternators, shocks, struts and even replaced a transmission. and engine for us. Great work. Great Service
