- MMMaclain6 days ago5.0I wanted to take a moment to recognize Dakota, a commercial driver out of the AutoZone Hub store on SW 44th Street. I had such a positive experience that I felt it deserved to be shared. I live in the same apartment complex and saw a guy getting out of his car in his AutoZone uniform which I also learned his name because he had his name tag on still. At the time, I was carrying a heavy Duralast car battery to the AutoZone on 12th Street in Moore for a core exchange because my car had died. Those batteries are no joke because they’re extremely heavy and I had a pretty long walk ahead of me. Dakota noticed I was struggling and immediately offered to give me a ride. I even asked him if he was sure, since I’m a complete stranger, and without hesitation he said absolutely. During the drive, we talked a bit and I learned he had just gotten off work, which honestly made me feel a little guilty. But he assured me it was no problem at all and that he was genuinely happy to help. When I asked which store he worked for so I could put in a good word, he told me, but also made it clear he wasn’t doing it for recognition. He said he just wanted to help because there isn’t enough of that in the world these days. That really stuck with me. After I exchanged the battery, he even drove me back to my apartment which is on the opposite side of the complex from his and offered to help install it. I told him he had already done more than enough, but I truly appreciated the offer. For a young guy, he really has his head on his shoulders. Dakota represents the kind of character, professionalism, and genuine care for others that reflects incredibly well on AutoZone. I’m very grateful for his kindness and willingness to go out of his way to help someone he didn’t even know.
