Needs 2 people at opening. Waited 30 minutes for them to open at 7:30 only to be told he can't do it because he's alone. It's ok though O'Reilly's took care of it.

I guess "Lifetime Warranty" on hand tools depends on which store you go to. Not all Autozones are the same. Took a broken rachet into the store for a replacement. The first person I spoke to, in a red shirt, looked at it, verified it was broken, and said sure no problem we'll get you another one. He entered the part number in the system and discovered it was discontinued. He was not sure how to proceed so he asked one of the guys in gray shirt, Steve I think is his name. The guy in the gray seemed a little inconvenienced from the beginning. He looked at the tool then looked at screen and said, well it's been discounted and the last price they showed for it was "on sale price of only $17". He offered nothing after that, not even a apology, standing there looking at me like he expected me to take my broken tool and leave. Finally the newer guy in the red shirt broke the silence and suggested calling Eric to find out what they should do. The guy in the gray shirt called someone while walking away from me and explained in a tone that suggested they should do nothing to find out how to proceed. He said there's a guy he trying to return a broken tool that has been discontinued, that we no longer have, and only cost $17 dollars. He told me to select another one and they would give me credit of $17 to apply to the purchase. As we walked over to the tool area to select another tool he said again it was only a $17 tool. I said well it was $17 dollar tool when they discontinued it, but was likely considerably more at the time I purchased it. His response was " do you have the receipt". I explained I've purchased thousands of tools and hundreds of rachets through the years and to keep all my receipts was impractical if not impossible, and besides the tool has Lifetime Warranty stamped on it. He said to me "well I all of my receipts in a bag". I said B.S. most receipts fade and or unreadable after only several months. Getting frustrated I selected a new tool, and wanting to be done I handed him the comparable replacement, now $30. As he begin to ring it up I decided to wait and contact the store manager later to express my disatisfaction we this transaction. 30 minutes later I was passing the Choctaw store and decided to stop there. The transaction started the same with a new guy in a red shirt. He to discovered the part was discontinued. He was instructed and assisted by Allen who wore a gray shirt to select a comparable new one from there shelf. As they were ringing me up the new guy asked if I had a receipt for it. Before I could answer Allen answered and said it doesn't matter, he could have had it 15 years, but it has a life time warranty, so we're going to replace. They completed the transaction, tool for tool, and even apologized for the tool breaking and I was out of the store in less than 7 minutes. Thanks Allen for knowing your company's policy of "Life time No questions asked" return policy. Its one of reasons I purchase Autozone hand tools when buying tools. As for the guy(s) at the 23rd Street store. Maybe he needs more training or should call the Choctaw store when he doesn't know how to handle something.

Sales person was helpful, walked me right to what I needed (car tire inflator). $49 later, my tire was properly aired up.
