I'm giving them 5 stars, but here's the story...
Gave them a 2 stars because in the beginning they were very, very nice but when I couldn't use their interlock machine, either one of them and had to uninstall it. After I'd paid them a $150. The woman that works there was rude. I called her and ask her if I could get some of my $150 back and she said, "we did our part". So I did not get any of that $150 back. She was upset because I went somewhere else and got a Guardian Interlock that was easier to use. Theirs was a blow suck blow machine and the one that I ended up with is a blow and hum machine which is much, much easier as I have breathing problems. But since then, Intoxalock has stepped up and removed my automatic payments finally and refunded that installation cost of $150... The Social Media Specialist "Isaias" was terrific and did what he said he would do...THANK YOU
Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
