Rented from the Enterprise Bartlesville, OK location (145 NE Washington Blvd), and this was one of the most frustrating experiences ever due to incompetent management and abysmal customer service from start to finish.
The car I reserved was available, but it was handed over in terrible shape: nearly empty gas tank (barely enough to drive safely), no washer fluid at all, the oil change light flashing immediately on the dashboard, and the interior filthy with dust, crumbs, and stains. I pointed these out during the inspection, but the employee shrugged it off, refused to refuel, top off fluids, reset the light, or clean it— just rushed me through like it was my problem.
Then, they hit me with a $150 charge for my wife to pick up the car. According to Enterprise’s own policy, spouses are supposed to be authorized drivers at no additional charge if they meet the basic requirements (valid license, age, etc.). I wasn’t trying to add her as some random extra driver—she was just coming to collect the vehicle I reserved and paid for. When I questioned the fee, the staff got defensive, gave vague answers, and wouldn’t explain why it was applied or remove it. The manager eventually showed up but was completely unhelpful: dismissive, short-tempered, and more focused on defending the charge than checking policy or making it right. No apology, no willingness to fix the obvious errors (vehicle condition or bogus fee), just attitude and excuses about being “busy.”
This isn’t isolated incompetence—it’s clear poor management allows staff to ignore basic standards: delivering a safe/clean car, following company policy on spouse authorization, and actually listening to paying customers. I felt nickel-and-dimed and disrespected the entire time, turning a simple rental into a stressful ordeal.
Avoid this Bartlesville branch at all costs. The reserved car being there doesn’t excuse the dirty/unsafe vehicle, the improper $150 charge, or the terrible service. 1/5 stars—management needs a major overhaul.
