- LLLynyrd055Sep 9, 20255.0Stopped in this Xenia store on Monday for some parts for my 1974 chevy pick up, was greeted with a friendly hello as soon as I walked in the door, They didn't have the part I was looking for, But the 2 guys ( An older man and a younger man ) Both got on the phone and were able to find just what I was looking for, Service above and beyond, Talking with the older man I learned a few things I never knew, He sure knew his stuff, This is my go to place, You don't just find service and Knowledge like this in many places these days, I have to say If you're not shopping for parts here, You're shopping in the wrong place!!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
