We rented a vehicle for 10 days and were scheduled to return it today. Due to travel timing, we were going to have the car back by 6:30 PM. The location closes at 5:30 PM, so I called ahead to ask if I could return the vehicle after hours, place the keys in the drop box, and avoid being charged for an additional full day. This is something I’ve done before without issue, and it has always been accommodated. Unfortunately, this time I was told that even though the vehicle would be returned the same day—just one hour after closing—we would be charged for an entire extra day. I understand policies exist for a reason, but long-term, repeat customers expect at least some level of flexibility and consistency. After renting for 10 days and being a loyal customer, it’s frustrating to receive no consideration for a short timing issue, especially when past experiences set a different expectation. This experience has left a bad impression. I value businesses that recognize and appreciate repeat customers, and in this case, I did not feel valued. I won’t be renting from them again. Ever.
