Car was broken into January 2025, Safelite Valley View replaced it. In December 2025, the glass shattered sitting parked (no break in, just broke in the corners).
Submitted another claim with my insurance, Valley View Safelite sent someone to my work to fix it. At first, I thought I was good to go but the biggest issue I have is he didn't check his work. Didn't sit in the car and look out the mirror or test the washer nozzle. He was apologizing that it took him longer than expected (1.5 hours). I don't care if it took him 5 hours, I just wanted it done right.
When I drove it from the garage that I provided for him to work in, to my parking spot, I tested the washer nozzle. It didn't work. I called and he came back and readjusted some of the trim, started kind of working but has since stopped again. He also lost one of clips to a trim piece, so I had to order another one myself.
When I was driving to work the next day, in the daylight, I realized the whole piece of glass is warped, not just a couple spots, it looks like a I am in a fun house. Also, there was a lot of ice accumulation that night and the heating on the back window does not work either. No ice melted on my 25-minute drive to work.
I have since submitted a warranty request but requested that I be assigned to a different location this time. I also asked for OEM glass instead of aftermarket, Safelite would not approve it as a warranty but luckily it was approved by my insurance. (Crazy that an insurance company does the right thing instead of the company that did the work).
Unfortunately, the OEM glass keeps getting delayed in transit (because, you know, Safelite does not even stock OEM glass) and they won't schedule me a new appointment until it actually arrives.
I will provide an update once the new piece of glass is replaced but just a reminder. When glass breaks the biggest worry for everyone is to get it fixed ASAP, obviously, but also, make sure you are checking the work, bad glass is unsafe to drive with especially in a cold weather climate.
Why 2 stars instead of 1, well the glass is still in one piece and at least when I called the guy did come back and try to fix the one issue I did find right away.
