I will never do business with Tire Discounters in Troy again. On Tuesday, April 21 2026, I had two new tires installed on the rear of my SUV. Immediately after leaving, the vehicle began making a loud, awful buzzing sound between 20-40 mph.
When we returned and two different employees drove it and tried to blame my tie rods, front differential, or wheel hubs—claiming that putting the car on a lift "breaks things free" and exposes "prior problems." After $300 and no resolution, they sent us on our way with a malfunctioning vehicle.
The following day, we took the SUV to Purks in Piqua. They immediately identified the issue: although the tire size matched on paper, the actual circumference of the new tires was different from the front. For an AWD system, this mismatch creates a constant "slip" state, putting extreme strain on the center differential and transfer case.
When my husband returned to the Troy location to address this, the District Manager was argumentative rather than helpful. Their "5-point inspection" clearly failed to catch a fundamental safety and mechanical issue that could have destroyed my drivetrain. The sound is gone now that the tires are off not thanks to them, but the potential long-term damage is still unknown. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

If someone has an appointment time, get their car in on time or very close to it. We take the time to make an appointment and show up on time, the least you can do is respect our time like we do yours. Waiting nearly an hour for my car to get taken in almost every time is ridiculous. I have other opinions on this business, but this is the only one that affects me so let's start there.
0/10, regret buying my tires here so I can get lifetime rotations. Not worth it. Will definitely buy my next set from the ma and pop shop down the street who actually get my car in for oil changes within a few minutes (that's right, I despise Tire Discounters so much that I take my car elsewhere for an oil change and don't have them do it while I'm already here).

If I could give zero stars I would. The tires I purchased here lasted less than 15k miles and the “alignment” they did was a joke. Avoid and give your business to a locally owned small business instead.

Warning to women and Christians. I had to take my car to the dealership because my brakes keeps squealing and they were brand new. The dealership found out that they were installed improperly and I had to pay another $300 to get it fixed. Also, one of the technicians left glass, broken glass and a nail up under my seat, and I told the store manager he made a little smart comment like nobody there would do something like that. So the next time I took it in, I had my Bible sitting on my front seat, one of those technicians at the Troy Ohio store put some kind of chemical on the front of my Bible and now it’s discolored. Warning don’t go there.
