Port Clinton Auto Repair is a full service automotive repair shop, service center, located in Port Clinton, Ohio on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie. We are family owned and operated and have been providing friendly, reliable, affordable automotive repair and maintenance in Ottawa County since 1949.
At Port Clinton Auto Repair we are completely dedicated to our customers and offer a level of personal service that cannot be found in the chain stores, and are your car dealership alternative.
Port Clinton Auto Repair was started in 1949 by Jack Smith, and in the early days was called Jack’s Friendly Mobile gas station. The original shop was located at 210 West Perry on the corner, across from the Jet Express, for 54 years and moved to our new location at 222 Buckeye Blvd. in 2004. Jack’s motto was affordable, friendly & trusted automobile service. In 1973 Jack's son Kim joined the business. In 1987 Kim took over as owner & operator and changed the name to The Muffler Smiths, Inc. Kim says the customers are what are so great about this business, they become like family! In 2008 Kim's wife Lisa joined Kim in the business. In 2018 Kim & Lisa changed the name to Port Clinton Auto Repair.

- JSJon StaffordApr 6, 20261.0Out in port Clinton on vacation had a hole in a tire said they could get it patched. Didn’t have a splined lug nut socket so I had to drive around on my flat tire go buy $70 worth of tools, let them use my tools to fix my tire then charged me $80 for a tire patch. Personally I’m a mechanic back in Minnesota and we charge 10-15 dollars for a patch. The young mechanic Jacob was excellent and friendly has a bright future. But the establishment it self is robbing people blind. But hey for a ten minute job that took almost 2 hours and $150 because they have insufficient tools and think tire patches are made of gold at least I got a free thank you bag of popcorn. Absolutely do not recommend and only went there because they’re the only place in this damn town that will actually answer their phones
