- JBJulie BarnesMar 17, 20265.0I was in just under two weeks ago (at the Pickerington store) on the evening of Friday March 6. It was determined that I needed a new battery at 8:55 pm. The young man that was there insisted it wasn't too late to change my battery despite the fact that it was five minutes prior to closing. The car is a Honda and the battery is buried and not easy to reach. The young man that helped me was Emanuel Tesfaye at the Pickerington store. He was extremely gracious and pleasant despite having to stay late. This was a demonstration of amazing customer service, which is hard to find these days. You are a very lucky organization to have this young man be a part of your team. If you recognize exceptional teammates, please honor this young man. Also present during this transaction was Skye B. She was also extremely pleasant and happy to assist Emanuel with diagnostics and battery replacement. Good Job to these two teammates and excellent hiring by Advanced Auto Parts!

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
