- ZJZ JonesFeb 1, 20261.0Guy who was working 1/30 might’ve been the most lazy in-knowledgable car guy I’ve ever ran into. Never been to an advance where they don’t help replace tail light bulbs. Said I needed a socket set, went down the street to oreillys and the tail light was only held in by hand bolts. Do yourself a favor and go to O’reillys.

Every other Advanced Auto I've ever been to has HAPPILY helped me install bulbs, wipers, heck I even had one put in my antifreeze because it was cold! Do the job you're paid to do, lazy!!

Two gentlemen working the counter, I'm sure they've been at this all day with wipers. It's a such a wonderful service that they come out to the car and help replace wipers. Rich helped me, he was knowledgeable and such a pleasant guy. Outstanding service!!

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
