Once when I was having trouble with a vehicle they checked it out and pointed out the cause (which was just a quirk of how the vehicle was being utilized, not something that needed to be fixed), and they refused payment even for their time in looking it over. They're my first stop for car care and have been for a few years now.

I went to Mr. Tire on recommendation of an employee at another Mr. Tire location because he had the experience and expertise to address the electrical problem in my car. What eventually happened was that upon beginning the diagnostic test to find the cause of the problem, he quickly realized that he did not have the necessary equipment to do the job. I was advised to take my car to a dealership. But Mr. Tire did not charge me anything for the inspection they did do. I very much appreciate that.
