He took the oil back and I went to the first register for parts. Guy was a complete smart ass and major jerk. Had no opinion on brands, was rude as hell when I didn't have the exact answer to a question he asked. Told him I didn't appreciate the attitude and left without buying anything. Customer service is the only thing local auto parts stores have left against the Rock Autos, EBays and Amazon's of the world and this guy was terrible. I will not return.

It's fine NAPAs "cash only" - I agree that's understandable since they're in transition from being bought by corporate but come on - refusing to answer questions, ignoring attempts to clarify, deliberately being totally not helpful - I was even trying to be kind... Not sure if Jesse (from Napa) was having a totally horribly bad day but luckily for me CJ and Charles at Advance Auto Parts were friendly, helpful, extremely polite, happy to make sure I got what I need and took my 300.00 dollars without belittling me so gladly I'll just go there! Really, thank you for being so understanding, for your offers to assist and walk me through what I needed to know... Will definitely return! Thanks again!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
