Bigger Road Automotive fixed my catalytic converter for $500 cheaper than the first place I brought it to. They had it ready for me the next day, were very pleasant to work with, and my car is running great. I will definitely bring my car here again for future repairs!

I had a bad steering pump originally on my end here......went to Bigger Automotive to get it serviced and Paul and the team put in a new steering pump with new hoses that were all needed and unfortunately that new steering pump was faulty and had issues 2-3 weeks later after Bigger Automotive put that new pump into my car. I was able to go back to them and the second time they installed a new steering pump they did an excellent job at no cost the second time around and the guys did great work and everything runs fantastic now! A big thank you to Paul and Jeff and the guys there. I really appreciate you guys coming back to fix my car the second time around at no cost due to some faulty car parts. You did a very clean and nice professional job. Great service...understanding.....and very friendly team! The steering and car are in tip top shape once again!! Thank you guys very much!!

I typically only leave positive reviews because I love to support local businesses and positive reviews are always more effective. However, almost a year has passed since this incident and I feel it’s important to let people know what their experience could be like. I am not angry or upset, simply just informing. For 4 years, my husband and I took our cars to Bigger Road Automotive. We were generally happy with the work and service we were given despite a couple of occasions where more problems seemed to pop up after getting our vehicles back. Last fall, we took my car in for AC repair. The AC was fixed and still works currently. However, the way we were treated after a simple miscommunication was unacceptable - especially after 4 years of service we’d given them at that point. If you’re fine with not receiving good customer service, Bigger Road does good work at a competitive price and you don’t need to keep reading. For more context to my 2-star review, see below. [full story] We took our car in for AC repair and it was done a few days later. My husband and I work 8-5 so we asked about after hours pickup. We were told the car keys and invoice would be left under the drivers side mat and we could pick up the car with our spare key. We were also told we could pay the invoice electronically, but never received this (could’ve been error on our or their part, still not sure). My husband left a voicemail that night notifying Bigger Road Auto that we had picked up the car but the invoice and keys were not in it and he would stop by during his lunch that following day to get what was needed and pay the bill. Around 10am that next day, I received 5 calls right in a row. I am a therapist and do not answer my phone during sessions, therefore, I did not know it was Centerville Police Department calling. They left a message telling me to call them back immediately, no other context. At the time, we lived in Kettering so I was genuinely confused why Centerville would be calling and started to panic. My husband works at Miami Valley South in Centerville so I immediately assumed it was something regarding him or his work. Once the PD got back to me, they said Bigger Road Automotive was pressing “theft of services” charges against us if we did not pay our invoice by 1pm. I explained my confusion and the situation to the officer who was very understanding. I then called bigger road to clear up the misunderstanding and pay our bill. Paul, who I’d spoken to many times before, answered and repeatedly cut me off telling me I was in the wrong, yelling that we were going to face felony charges. I calmly and clearly spoke with him, apologizing for the misunderstanding and paid the bill right there over the phone. He continued to speak rudely to me noting, “we’ve been trying to reach your husband all morning” to which I let him know he works at the hospital and cannot have his phone with patients. I mentioned the voicemail we had left the night before and what we had understood about final invoice and key pickup. He continued to talk over me never once offering the possibility that they miscommunicated pickup expectations or at the very least, they were not clear enough. I was met with more hostility despite already paying the bill earlier in the call. I once again apologized for the inconvenience and was hung up on. The way he spoke to me was unprofessional and childish. Finally, while a call to PD after very little time had passed does feel like an overreaction, I told him and the police officer that I totally understood the predicament he was in as a business owner. What is absolutely not justified is how I was yelled at, interrupted, fear-mongered and made to feel small and stupid. We have taken our service elsewhere and will never recommend Bigger Road Automotive again.

I took my vehicle here for an electrical issue that made my vehicle not start. Turns out the PCM had blown from a short in some wiring. It took them three weeks to diagnose that it was an issue with the PCM and so they got a new one and put it in only for it to blow again since they didn't check for any shorts. Only after the new one blew did they start looking for shorts. 2 months later I finally had my vehicle back. The day after I got my vehicle back it died in the middle of the road. When I first gave my vehicle to them I gave them a full status report printed and taped to the steering wheel, in it I clearly stated that during my own diagnostic work on the vehicle I had disconnected the battery and alternator. They clearly did not read this status report nor did a thorough check of my vehicle because they gave it back to me with the alternator disconnected which caused the vehicle to die on the road. After all of that was resolved the vehicle was running fine again except that the airbag light has been on since I got it back. While trying to diagnose the airbag light I stumbled upon the work they had done in installing the PCM, it was elementary at best. The PCM was not bolted down to the chassis and the wiring they had fixed was routed incorrectly. I was very displeased to see this and naturally decided to go back and bring this up with the owner Paul. After explaining the issue to Paul the mechanic who had done the work immediately started being defensive stating how old the vehicle is and blaming me for causing the issue with the wiring in the first place. I was extremely offended that someone would talk to a customer who spent over $1,500 on a single repair. Turning back to Paul I naturally speak out about the way he spoke to me and immediately the owner of the shop Paul starts yelling at me, yes yelling at me, about how I came in with attitude and was rude to him first. No one is going to be happy and jolly when the notice a mechanic did a terrible job on a repair. I immediately left and informed him I will never be bringing my vehicle back. I am also going to be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Do not bring your vehicle here under any circumstance.
