- KDKerry DuncanSep 25, 20255.0I want to give a HUGE thanks to Tracy at the North Dixie location. I drove home from work,. I work in Beavercreek and stopped on Miller Lane to get dinner. When I got back in the car it would not start. My husband came and jump started my car and I drove straight to Advanced Auto as this wasn't the 1st time they helped us with a new battery. I walked in was greeted with a smile and Tracy immediately helped me he tested the battery and he replaced it right away. He provided such fast, friendly service and saved me the stress and worry about getting to work tomorrow. Anyone who needs a new car battery should definitely go see Tracy.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
