I would have considered myself a loyal customer with Oil Express and came in for an extremely disappointing customer service experience today for oil change, wiper replacement and a “would have” air filter replacement.
During my service, The technician (young,white male, long, stringy , greasy hair) recommended that I purchase a filter for $24.99, “it’s discounted right now” and I agreed based on that price. He later returned and said “well, this is sorta a discount”The price was actually $39.99. When I asked if he could honor the original price he stated, he replied that it was “just a quote,” which was Never communicated to me at the time. There wasn’t any accountability for the misquote. Because of this, I declined the purchase and kept my old filter. I was further frustrated by the technician’s rude, short, defensive, and combative behavior when I questioned the pricing.
Technicians should be educated on the cost of products before recommending that product/service to customers or be held accountable to honor the price they quote.
Additionally, it is upsetting that Oil Express intentionally shorten my change after I paid in cash. My change was $13.78 and I receive $13.75.
The technician stated,”We don’t have pennies “
I can’t believe Oil Express allows its staff to tell its customers they can’t provide customers exact change because we “don’t have pennies.”
That money is still owed to the customer. If exact change cannot be provided, the difference should be rounded in the customer’s favor. Even if it’s only a cent, it’s still “the customer’s”money. Even better, inform the customers beforehand, so that the customer can be prepared for an alternative payment option.
Prices should not be set in a way that results in customers consistently receiving less than the full amount of their change.
This was the poorest customer service I’ve experienced. What is happening with management at this location? Do yourself a favor and seek a more professional place to service your vehicle. If I could give -stars.. I would have!

I'm forever grateful for the extended service Ray provided to me! I drove 7.5 hours to Ohio and had an issue with my SUV. I knew my oil change was on the verge of being due, another Tech started to assist, and that Tech was also amazing, then I asked Ray what a light meant on my dash. He went into full detail and he discovered the oil that was placed in my vehicle in my hometown was THE INCORRECT OIL. (From my sticker code & described issue) I called the oil change company on speaker on the spot to confirm & YES, it was the incorrect oil they were using! Ray even explained it to them & they agreed! Ray took his time to explain the next steps, he took over the service and provided me guidance and knowledge. While another customer walked up to the service desk, we both agreed that the explanation & assistance from Ray was a life saver because I have to drive back 7.5 hours! I took every step he told me. My light went off and my SUV is driving just like its brand new! Im SURE if I didn't choose this location I would not have been provided a knowledgeable solution. I learned more about the type of oil my vehicle needed and WHY because of Ray. He showed me the cap, the oil type, brand, and how to obtain my coupon. Thank you Ray for the outstanding Customer Service, knowledge and patience for literally saving me from a disaster over the road! The other customer stated he'll always go to your location! It's a blessing to be kind and considerate you went above & beyond. My SUV issue was resolved because of YOU!

By far the best oil change place I have ever used, the guys are different than the ones that use to run it and it shows bc they are very informative and very helpful I highly recommend them they gave me more helpful info in one visit then 10 visits to the other oil change place , HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THIS LOCATION !!!!!!!! Best experience I have ever had !!!!!!!!
