My experience with Enterprise is leaning more towards dissatisfaction with a recent rental experience at Enterprise, despite the fact that the staff themselves were polite and professional.
Shortly after renting my vehicle, the battery unexpectedly died late at night while I was out, leaving me stranded in the cold. The branch was already closed, and when I contacted Emergency Roadside Assistance, I was quoted an unreasonably high charge just to have someone come out and jump-start the vehicle. Due to my prior experience working with vehicles, I took the initiative to contact a family member and resolve the issue myself, as I did not feel the roadside assistance charge was acceptable.
The following morning, I returned to the branch to exchange the vehicle. While the replacement was provided, I was not offered an upgrade for the inconvenience, despite the issue being entirely due to vehicle maintenance and not through any fault of my own.
Additionally, the original vehicle was in very poor condition. While I understand that rental vehicles experience wear and tear, this particular car is a 2023 model had dents and scratches throughout. More concerning, the interior presented a serious safety issue: the driver-side floor panel was damaged to the point where I could visibly see the vehicle’s frame through the floor, which felt extremely unsafe. On top of that, the vehicle had a strong and unpleasant body odor, not related to smoke, which further reflected a lack of proper inspection and cleaning.
I would like to note again that the staff were courteous, and I appreciated being checked in and out by the same representative. However, given the circumstances being stranded late at night, dealing with a poorly maintained and unsafe vehicle, and having to exchange the car due to no fault of my own I expected a higher level of service and consideration from Enterprise.
I am disappointed, as I have higher expectations of Enterprise’s vehicle standards and customer care.
