There is a reason they are a preferred shop of multiple major insurance companies - they are not primarily interested in restoring your car to pre-accident condition! After I was rear-ended, I noticed rattling/vibration and reported to this shop. They told me to take it to a mechanic. I later found up from Allstate that policy was that the body shop sublet to a mechanic if they couldn't figure it out. Because I had to handle, mechanics had difficulty assessing the mechanical damage as they never saw the body damage nor interfaced with the body shop. One, in fact, didn't understand why I wasn't working the issue through a body shop! The only good thing about this multiple month debacle was the mechanic found additional body damage to the muffler. My muffler is only visible when one bends down and looks underneath the car or when someone has the entire bumper and plastic underneath off the car for replacement. So, this body shop either didn't address the damage to the muffler out of incompetence or lack of ethical compass. To make matters worse, while I was dissecting the mechanical problems I had conversations with Allstate who said noise or vibration could be indicative of a suspension problem but they were "certain" and "assumed" that Gerber looked at that. When I called Gerber to ask if they did, they said "absolute not" - Allstate prohibits them! Net, if you want a quick job or one to minimize the financial impact when only visible damage is addressed, go here; however, if you want your car restored to pre-accident condition without a major hassle, avoid at all costs.
