- MMMatthew MogleNov 7, 20251.0Dishonesty or incompetence? Who knows. Always get a second look. Brought my truck in to the Elma location to have them look at a check engine light issue. Error code said it was a cylinder misfire so it could've been any number of things. After diagnosis, Scruggs told me I needed to pay north of $22k to have my ENTIRE ENGINE REPLACED! When I called to ask what my options were, I was told there were no options; that was it. I picked up the truck (it drove off the lot despite catastrophic engine failure, btw) and took it to another shop. Within minutes, they found that a rodent had chewed the wire for the fuel injection. Funniest part is that the wire was damaged right where they would have been inspecting the spark plugs. Not sure how they would have missed it... Think twice before authorizing this shop to do work on your vehicle. At the very least, get a second opinion.
