- TCTre Cruz4 days ago1.0The reason I’m rating this Mavis a 1 star is 1.) they almost snapped my key entering my car. 2.) Upon completion of my service I was missing one of my personal sockets that I keep in the car. (To be fair I did get this back and it seemed to be an honest mistake) However, I noticed that my valve core did not have the cap back on it after the service. (I got that back after I asked for it) 3.) I was fine with the other stuff until I found out that one of the tires they loosened was not tightened back properly. Fortunately it did not fall off but that’s literally the most important part of the job. I torqued it to spec myself and I’m shocked the tire stood on as long as it did. Also I understand almost every company will try to sell you more, but to try and upsell me after so many mistakes. So irritating smh!

- ASAriana ScecchitanoOct 30, 20251.0If you're going to get scammed anyway, you might as well get scammed at a small business. After being reassured the day prior that they could plug a tire for me, I brought it in. It was explained that if the issue was worse they may need to put a new tire on. This is all good. Such a simple thing should take no time, but my car was held hostage for five hours. After paying my bill for a "flat tire repair", I went to my car to find the driver side window rolled down completely and the tire pressure sensor glowing. But maybe it will go away after I drive a bit, right? Nope. I had to fill the tire with air and it continued to lose pressure as I traveled 10 hours through PA. So I paid for a repair that never happened. They took my money, left my window open, and said nothing. I am left to assume that the tire was never even looked at because it wasn't worth their time. They didn't try to replace it because they likely don't have my tire brand on hand (Nokian). And they left the window open to whomever might want to help themselves to the contents of my vehicle. Mechanics have a poor reputation for taking advantage of the general population's ignorance of the trade, but if you are going to be scammed, I recommend taking a chance with a local guy who will appreciate the extra cash. Times are tough for everyone. Mavis is a national company and they don't need the help. They're not cheaper, faster, better, or more professional. Nor are they more convenient (see 5 hr wait for a tire plug that wasn't done but paid for). They fail on every metric.
