Ladies!!! Warning — do not go here!!! Pink Tax alert!!!
I went here yesterday for my inspection. I had an appointment, but it still took an hour and a half. They told me my caliper piston seal was leaking and that I had a small bubble in my tire. Then they came out to tell me the repairs would cost about $1,400. On top of that, they claimed I failed because the rubber on my wiper was torn — which seemed ridiculous.
I asked them to speak with my boyfriend on the phone since he handles all the maintenance on our car. Over the phone, they told him it would be about $2,000 — which is not what they told me in person. My boyfriend said thank you, but we were taking the car home.
When I went outside to take pictures of what they were talking about, I saw that they already had the brake cables off — meaning they had started work on the car without my permission. We took the car home, bought a new caliper from NAPA for $80, and replaced it ourselves. The next day, we brought the car to Mr. Tire in Niagara Falls. Within 15 minutes, the car passed inspection — with the same tire and the same wiper blade.
I understand not everyone has the time, resources, or knowledge to do car maintenance themselves, but what infuriates me the most is that Goodyear tried to take advantage of a 22-year-old woman without even thinking twice. They clearly didn’t expect me to say no. Do not bother going here. I don’t know if this is a big chain issue or just this location, but either way — beware.

Came in for a wheel alignment check, found an issue and didn't waste my time doing the alignment check because of it. Instead the tech brought me in and showed me the issue, pointed out what parts needed replacement and educated me on the matter. Very friendly and professional. Spoke to the manager and was very appreciative of the praise and made his day. Great staff here.

I have been going to Goodyear since I got my car, even got a new set of new tires from Goodyear last year. The staff member who used to work on my car is very nice and helpful. What happened in recently shop visit really changed my opinions to Goodyear whatsoever.
I noticed that my car, Mazda cx-5 2016 touring model, had some noise when I steps on brake pad. I know it might be some problem in brake pad/ brake disc or brake caliper. An old man who handled my car told me that he has to replace all my brake pads and discs and four brake calipers since they are fully jammed. And he told me they are gone for good and he doesn't know which one should replace since they are all damaged. I believed whoever is reading this must know that it is very rare to replace four calipers at same time. I immediately knew he was lying. I called Mazda 4s service to check my recent record, also brought my car to another shop for another service, and got answers from both locations that there is no need to change my calipers.
This incident taught me that, never trust a Goodyear staff member who is trying to replace your calipers. I can't guarantee that I will go to any Goodyear shop but i will never return to this shop in my life.
Btw, for those who are wondering the quote for replace brake calipers, pad and discs + labor, it is around $1800 before tax. P.S. I got my car fixed without changing calipers for only $700.
