- TOTom O’ConnorFeb 18, 20261.0Watch out - this Mavis failed our admitedly older car’s NYS vehicle safety inspection for a front strut that has seen better days unless we paid $1200 to have it fixed right then and there. I refused to pay, they failed the inspection, and I brought the car elsewhere for a second inspection. It passed! And the other shop said that unless the struts were damaged or broken (they weren’t), it’s not enough to trigger an inspection failure, just as I suspected. Totally dishonest and scammy. I will never go back here, even after thousands of dollars we have shelled out to them within the last year for other repairs - it is a shame they chose to end our relationship this way. Beware of the suspiciously high review rating here… seems like many reviews are fake.
